Golden Age Foundation Receives Boeing Grant

The Golden Age Foundation (GAF) has been awarded a $2,000 grant from the Boeing Corporate Citizenship Fund. This fund is supported by Boeing employees who allocate a portion of their salaries to assist qualified charitable organizations. Lynn Baidack, a Golden Age Foundation Board member, recently retired from Boeing, While still employed, Lynn obtained an invitation for the Golden Age Foundation to apply for a grant from this fund.
The Council of Aging of Orange County assisted us in the grant writing process. After reviewing our application, Boeing representatives did a site visit here. They had never been inside Leisure World and were very impressed with our wonderful community.

The Boeing staff were also amazed that the GAF has no administrative costs, because volunteers staff the Foundation’s program. Funds donated by many generous shareholders are used to offer free programs for Leisure World residents, including the Hospitality Center, the Mobility Aids program, the Income Tax program, and the Council on Aging of Orange County HICAP (Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy) program. The Golden Age Foundation, a charitable non-profit (501(c)3 organization, has been providing services in the Leisure World community since 1973.
