In February of 2019 the Golden Age Board voted to partner with Meals on Wheels Long Beach (MOWLB) to provide low-income members of the community with free hot meals.
Meals are delivered by a team of two volunteers between 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Normally the current cost is $8.25 per day. Enrollment criteria include being homebound and being a Leisure World resident. Those who need financial sponsorship, now generously provided by GAF, are screened for eligibility by MOWLB professionals and the meals are free.

Application for the Golden Age Meals on Wheels sponsorship is handled by Meals On Wheels staff. No one in Leisure World on in the Golden Age Fdn will know what residents have their meals sponsored by Golden Age. The personal sponsorship information will remain private and completely confidential and will not be released to the Golden Age Board.
